Sirs:

Our agents among the mortal herd have brought to Our attention your recent
product entitled Windows '95. Therefore We now give you statutory notice of
intent of proceedings to be taken against Microsoft by the Many-Angled Ones.

With this suit We will show that Windows '95, and to a lesser extent all of
the Microsoft range of products, infringe upon the recognised "look-and-feel"
of the Elder Gods, for the following reasons:

o   Windows '95 is a crawling abomination from the darkest pits of Hell;

o   No man can be in it's presence for too long without being driven into
    gibbering insanity;

o   A cult who worship it exist in secret amongst the mortal herd;

o   Those who associate with it for too long develop common physical
    characteristics, to wit: pale, clammy skin, bulging eyes, generally
    unkempt physical appearance, tendency towards nocturnal living, change
    in diet to that which normal men do not eat (in your case tacos, burgers
    and Jolt Coke; in Ours, human flesh, Fungi of Yuggoth and the blood of
    Alien Gods);

o   Mysterious tomes that purport to explain this phenomenon are reputed to
    exist; they are bound in an unnatural substance and only available at
    a terrible cost to the user.

o   The Microsoft range of products seek to utterly dominate the world, and
    force all who dwell there to live in eternal damnation.

As you can see, Our case is very strong, especially when you consider that
most judges prefer not to have chittering things with tentacles for faces
scoop out their brains and eat them.

We hope you will consider these points carefully and settle out of court,
since it is not Our intention to have your senior partners spend the rest
of their mercifully short lives under heavy sedation in a maximum security
psychiatric hospital.  After all, it was the Lords of the Outer Planes who
gave humanity lawyers in the first place.

Two of the world’s largest multinational companies, Pepsi and Coca Cola, today ratcheted up a long-running campaign in India to prove their soft drinks are safe, as local governments widened a partial ban on their products following a report by an environmental group claiming the sodas contained high levels of pesticide.

The western coastal state of Gujarat and the state of Madhya Pradesh, in central India, banned the sale of the soft drinks in schools and government offices, after tests on 11 products made by the two companies showed high pesticide levels, up to 24 times the recommended limit.

So, lets drink only soda lemon.

on that day, i woke up an hour earlier. i was ready with my half charged canon powershot s420 digital camera. i rushed to the bus stop and i reached the college in time. it was the last day for finalising attendance.little fear in my heart regarding my final attendance. they finalised it but dint display.

The clock was running close to 4pm….

ashwin, nikhil and i approahed pradeep, a guy in administrative panel. we reminded him about the bus to ou. it was salman khan’s ‘janeeman’ releasing day. all of my classmates were rushing to it. i was not sure even if 10 of them were going to come in the bus to ou.

20 were there to come in the bus. i took a snap in the mini bus. nikhil took a full length snap and a snap of the bus driver.

the bus rushed to the tagore auditorium. it was my paradise then.

i did some little organisation at the event. i never thought that i could see rms this year. even though i was asked to look after the things i managed to listen to his speech. it was amazing even though i knew the content before. naveen is also very good at expressing the content. the same content was delivered by naveen many times before. but it was more exciting to listen the saint’s version.

certificates were handed to us. we started to home. 4 minutes later……

only two colleges provided bus to the event.

one is vignan and the other is cvsr.

it was great.

the motto ‘each one get ten’ was fullfilled from my end.

Localisation Sprint

Here I would like to tell you about my experiences regarding the localisation sprint.

The day (28th september 2006) started….

I was ofcourse dreaming about it all the previous day. I made ready my i-ball pendrive with all the po files in it.

I went to the college with much eagerness. On the way I instructed everything to ashwin and after reaching there i met the HOD and informed him that the sprint will be organised in the afternoon. He expressed his authentication and i showed him the posters of the sprint sent by AMAR my co-volunteer in FSF.

Nikhil, Ashwin and I went down and pasted one poster beside the notice board and the other in the pharmacy block.

I directly went to ASHISH sir and asked for his approval and assistance to use the IT-workshop meant for the 1st year guys. I admire ASHISH sir most in my college. He is really a cool dude.

He came to the IT-workshop (venue for the sprint) to assist us. There nikhil, ashwin, ramjee, sai, sandeep took out 128mb rams from 15 computers which did not have cd rom drives and installed them in the boxes containing the cd drives. Thats how we could make a total of 13 computers with 256mb rams and cd drives.

I booted all the computers with the SWECHA Live cd and mounted the pendrive to all the computers and copied the po files. This was done prior to the event.

All the students turned up and slowly started involving in the prestigious activity………..

An hour later……. Power Cut……. No UPS….. No generator….. Back up wasnt taken. All the effort was fruitless……

I immediately informed this to AMAR. He said me to visit KARSHAK. I did so immediately. Nikhil, Ashwin, Ramjee, Sandeep accompained me. There the activity was in good pace. I took back ups in my pen drive very frequently. My friends localised some code sitting in the other college. Really funny.

It was almost 1800 hours and we started walking the whole Prathapasingharam road. I couldnt go to OU and FSF office. I missed them. But I am happy as i was involved in some useful work at KARSHAK. I forgot to say, Chaitanya from Karshak was very cooperative and yes like ASHISH he is a cool dude too.

why i started blogging….

I, at the outset, would like to tell you why I started blogging.
Amar a close friend of mine advised me to write something in blogs to improve my language and expressive skills.

I am more interested in technologies like GNU/Linux, LAMP.

I am more attracted by the GNU philosophy.
